This year we sent out a Charitable Christmas wheel of good fortune to our network. Where Duncan, Joe, Barbara and Ed volunteered to help in specific tasks for their local communities.
Eduardas joined the Community of Sant'Egidio which is a worldwide family spreading peace and fostering relationships by regularly hosting dinners for the homeless and those who feel lonely. Ed joined their Christmas dinner where he helped with the setting of the event as well as catered the tables. If you have extra love to give, please check the community's website for their monthly events.
Joe planted trees and bee friendly flowers in his local community to help reduce our carbon footprint and create a home to thousands of species. It is London’s aim to increase tree cover across London from 20% to 25%. Joe has started by planting 5 Crabapple trees and some Crocuses, which are invaluable as a pollination partner for bees. He will be continually growing and adding to his tree nursery to do his bit for the environment.
We have chosen to donate to Macmillan as we feel it is a charity close to everyone's hearts. Cancer affects 1 in 2 people, macmillan is one of the largest UK charities who provides specialist care to those affected, they take time to understand individuals and be with them every step of the way. They don’t just look after a patient medically, but also the financial, social and emotional impacts that cancer can have. Our donation will help to support more individuals affected and also provide help to the nurses you graciously give up their time. Read more about the charity or donate yourself here.
